We hope everyone has a great summer!  Thank you for all of your dedication and work this year.  The PTO did a lot of great things for DMS.  Cindy and I will miss you, as we are moving on to the High School next year.  It’s sad to be leaving DMS, but exciting to start a new chapter in our sons’ lives.

The DMS PTO is still looking for a few great parents/guardians to fill the following chairperson positions for next year.  If you are interested, please contact either Tara Lang (tara@dmspto.org) or Cindy (cindy@dmspto.org).

Directory – chair the committee that organizes, prints, and distributes the directory in the fall.  We have the format done, all you need to do is collect the forms, and make any changes in the document, update teams, and add the 6th graders.  Once the directory comes out in October, you’re done!

Field Day – Help organize volunteers and anything else needed by DMS for Field Day in May

Hoop It Up – The basketball teams/teachers exhibition game in February – the PTO handles organizing the concessions and raffles.

PALS Rep – attend the Parent Advocates for Learning Support meetings each month and report back to the PTO on what transpired.

Used Book Sale – coordinate collection and sale of used books during May conference week.

Webmaster/Email Communicator – maintain the DMS PTO website (post news, forms, etc. using a Content Mangement System back end) and send out emails as requested to the parent mailing list.

The DMS PTO will return to a no-dues membership system for next school year.  Due to the fact that financial donations fund the PTO, and that people are getting “burned-out” on school fundraisers, we have decided to return to a “Non-Fundraiser Fundraiser”.

We are asking parents to donate what they can – $5, $10, $20, or whatever.  You may still use Paypal on our site to submit your donation.  Beginning now, any donations sent will apply to next year.
