Today, our fun fact is about our Davis Support Pup, Onyx! Our Davis PTO members LOVE Onyx and wanted to share some information about this sweet pup!
Onyx is 4 years old and his previous name was Garth. He never says no to any food or treat…..but who does? Onyx owns pjs, hoodies, a robe, beanies, converse, boots, sweaters, jackets, sherpa, vest, leg warmers, bow ties, a bookbag, and a gold chain! (I mean his wardrobe is awesome!) He can run sprints but definitely not a marathon and hates water and baths! He also has a cute little heart shape spot on his nose….which makes him even cuter!
Thank you Onyx for bringing smiles to our Davis students, teachers and staff…….and PTO!!

Stop by the Davis PTO table during Community Night this Thursday from 5-7 pm!! We will have items for sale in including academic signs, drinks and more!

Hi parents and caregivers!
Quick takeaways
- Schedules changed for upcoming dance clubs – 7-8:30 pm
- Bring water bottles
- New DJ/audio support added to DDC
- Host school this week is Eversole hosted by Anna Bender and Tara Talgar
First off, thank you for the amazing turnout at our first Dublin Dance Club (DDC) on Feb. 9. We had more than 180-plus students attending across Davis, Sells, Karrer, Eversole, Grizzell and St. Brigid!
These kind of district-wide events are what make our school system so special. We saw lots of fun movement, learning new dance steps and making friends from across our district. You may have seen or heard that we have a new dance instructor team this year. This was due to both scheduling and billing increase request by the former dance leader. His cost increase was significant and would have
left our budget with almost no room for anything else for our students. Additionally, if we had used our previous leader, gym space was not available in March due to spring sports across all of our middle schools. This would have meant no dance club for our six graders.
We appreciate your patient and your support as we navigate a new team. A gentle reminder for respecting others and listening to our instructors is always appreciated. The committee has reviewed our first club and readjusted both our team and how we organize our evening.
We are excited for our new format!
Dance club Feb 12
- At our next club meetings, we will have a set playlist that we create, groups that include a friend or allow for friends that arrive together.
- Groups will be around 20-25 maximum.
- We also have a tighter timeline for our DJ, Dance instructors and volunteers to get in dances and lead with more structure.
- We have also hired a DJ for music and audio support.
- Matt Ryan will also be hosting and leading our final party on March 3 1:30-3 pm.
- He will have prizes, contests and a fun dance party for all!
Dance instruction
- Going forward, our dance team will be supplementing and helping us showcase our new dances at designated times.
- Last week we learned the waltz and the salsa. This week we will be reviewing the salsa and adding on a new dance–the cha cha.
- We hope that shortening the time, but including a tighter schedule will allow for all students to feel comfortable and included.
Student pickup at Eversole and future dance club events
- As you drive in to Eversole next week to pick up your student it may be dark.
- Please arrive and get in line and grab them like it’s a school line! We ask this for your child’s safety.
- There will be adults in all areas of the event, including the exits as they leave.
We would love your support volunteering at any dance club.
- Again — we couldn’t do it without your support!
- Arrival for parents requests at 6:30 prompt. Anna Deleget (Karrer) will be giving instructions to the volunteers at 630-6:35 pm.
- You will receive a designated volunteer spot and line/circle to lead.
Future dance club meetings:
Feb 12 – Monday Eversole 7-830 (Arrive at 7)
Feb 20 – Tuesday, Karrer 7-830 (Arrive at 7)
