Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today the the nation celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights leader who dedicated his life to achieving equality for people of all colors. He was one of the twentieth century’s best-known advocates for nonviolent social change. So powerful was the movement he inspired, that Congress enacted the Civil Rights Act in 1964, the same year Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize.
